Sunshine, warmth, and water balloons are all the fun elements of summer. As a 11 year old I did not know that all these things make a perfect day. But one thing I did know was that I wanted to have fun that day. So I looked around for adventure and found it right in my own backyard.
First, I went outside to see if any of my friends wanted to go into the secret forest and play. The secret forest is behind the swing set in my neighborhood. Can you imagine they declined my offer and instead said that they needed to do homework and could not play with me. Not only was I disappointed, but I was mad, and I ran inside my house. I then asked my parents if I could go to Clara Barton Elementary School Park (right next to my house) and play. My parents said I could not go because I was too young to walk by myself. I was sad that I could not go, and this made me even more sad.
My sister and I stared outside the window because outside there were two men sweaty and tired, digging and placing what looked like long metal water hoses. When they tested the system, water sprinkled out everywhere again and again. My sister and I watched and watched but we had no idea what was going on except we knew one thing, we wanted to get wet!
We asked our dad if we could play, and he finally said yes to something. I was so excited! We ran upstairs to change into our swimclothing. Then we came rushing down and ran through the water. We took turns running and jumping through the water. We played like this for a few minutes before my dad brought out some balloons. We filled the balloons with water.

The fight started when my dad threw a water balloon up in the air, it landed in between us and popped. Then we each grabbed a couple of balloons and started yeeting them at each other. We were so soaked. We ran away from each other, and as we ran, I fell and slid on the grass. Then my sister came up and dumped a bucket of water on me. I cried for a quick second because of the shock, but I remember, I quickly got up because I realized how much fun that was. Slick move on her part as 3 year old, but she did not know what was coming her way. I got up and grabbed a bunch of balloons and popped them on her back.
Now that we were even, we both started throwing balloons at our Dad. He was just sitting on the porch watching from a distance when he got pelleted with a bunch of balloons. This time, he was in shock and did not know what hit him. He quickly ran inside so we could not get him anymore.
This was the end of my adventure day since my Dad said it was time to come in. But we had to throw one more balloon at each other to end the big fight, and oh what fun it was!
I remember that I had learned that day that when life gives you water balloons throw them at your parents, and your sister. Best sunny, warm, water balloon adventure.
