Amazon Rainforest

Far away, deep into the Amazon Rainforest, a serpentine human resided. His teeth were big enough to devour an entire human single-handedly. Surprisingly, he also had talons that could regenerate. Why, you may ask, but this is because every one of his 999 victims had talons in their eyes, and I would be the last.

The Amazon Rainforest was bright and sunny; the sun shone on my skin, and the water was clear. “This is going to be a great adventure,” I thought. I traveled on a boat deep into the Amazon to find the belligerent serpentine beast who could slay any challenger. There’s no way he’s gonna kill me, I thought. But then I heard a crackly voice. “Now, I only need one more victim before I can transform into my potent form,” said the serpentine. I quickly row the boat in the opposite direction, rethinking my decision to slay the serpentine. But then I heard him again: “I see you now.” Panicking, I grabbed the oar, swaying it in front of my face, thinking it would protect me.

Then I hear a voice, thinking it’s the beast behind me. I turn around, but then I realize it’s in my head. Slay the Beast, Slay the Beast… “Get this voice outta here!” I yelled. The wind picked up in all that commotion, and the boat sailed downstream. The oars were gone; no way for me to get out. I was trapped in the beast’s realm, and I had a feeling I would be his last victim. The boat continues sailing, and I pass by the graveyard of all 999 victims, all with talons in their eyes—finally, the boat rocks to a stop. I feel his breath on my neck, his talons hovering above my eyes. My last memory…
