The sun shone through the window; it was a quiet day for Coach Nuon. He was working on his comments for his 7th and 8th Ultimate Class. “Armaan is such a great student.” … When suddenly, he remembers he must teach Ultimate class. But wait, the class already started 2 mins ago. He quickly runs out of his office and sprints down the steps two at a time. While he is running past the Levinger Pool Commons (LPC) building, he runs into Mrs. Peeden.
“Hey, Coach, you left your keys!” “Oh, SHOOT! I am already late to teach a class! Thanks for reminding me.” said Coach Nuon. “No problem, that’s why I’m your boss ” says Mrs. Peeden. He sees the kids waiting and screaming his name and calling him. He ignores them because he must retrieve the keys before they get more anxious.
Coach Nuon sprinted back to his office, taking the steps four at a time. When he gets to his office, he does not see the keys on his desk. He frantically searches everything in the drawers and all the cabinets. He still does not see the keys until he remembers that he was drinking Gatorade while holding his keys. He must have dropped his keys in the Gatorade bottle, which he threw in the trash on his way to the LPC.
“Aww, Man, I have to run back again,” said Coach Nuon. Again, Coach Nuon ran down the steps 4 at a time and sprinted all the way back to where he threw his Gatorade bottle. He looked inside the trash can and screamed. The bottle was not there anymore. Then he saw a garbage truck unloading the trash from the trashcan into the truck. He ran after it, saying wait up, wait up!
The truck driver could not hear him and kept driving. Coach Nuon was a fast runner, so he easily caught up to the truck. Sadly, the truck made a sharp left turn before he could catch up. Now the kids were even more mad, he was 5 min late! Coach Nuon continued to run after it. Luckily, it stopped at a red light. The garbage man inside was listening to some music; he had headphones on so he could not hear Coach Nuon screaming.
Then Coach Nuon had an idea: he banged on the window, and the bus driver rolled down the window. Coach Nuon told him that his keys were in the trash can. Coach Nuon pleaded, and then finally, the driver non reluctantly turned around and drove back to EPS. He got out of the truck and non-reluctantly opened the back. Coach Nuon frantically searched for the Gatorade bottle. He found it and opened it, “YES”, he screamed!
He pulled the keys out and he didn’t even care that they were sticky and had been in the trash. He ran back to the bus where the kids were. They were super mad. They complained and argued and screamed. Coach Nuon was about to blow because of all the noise. He acted responsibly and stayed calm so that he could set a good example for the students. They were still really riled up and amazed at the same time because he stuck his hand in the trash can to retrieve the keys. After class, he went back to his desk and continued to sip the Gatorade that was from the trash like nothing had happened that day. “Ahhh So Good So Good mhmmmm” murmured Coach Nuon.
