Lions are known to be fierce, fast and forceful. Let me tell you about how and where they live and how they catch their prey.
Lions are the laziest of the big cats. They sleep 15-20 hours of the day. Lions live in groups called ‘Prides’. They usually live in the Savannahs, grasslands and deserts. Some lions that live in these areas are African lions, Asiatic lions and Transvaal lions. African lions usually live in the grasslands because their prey lives there. Asiatic lions live in deserts because they can go a couple of days without water. Transvaal lions live in the Savannahs.

Did you know that male lions eat 16lbs of meat per day? Female lions eat less, at around 11lbs of meat per day. Lions can run as fast as 50 miles/hour. They eat a lot of food, and they are fast so that they can hunt their prey down. Not only do lions live in prides but they also hunt in prides to help take down bigger animals. Usually female lions hunt for the family.
In conclusion, just like a family that eats together stays together, lions in the wild live together and hunt together.
