The Best Trip Yet!

It all started when our parents woke us up at 6am one morning the day before my birthday. My sister, Alia’s birthday was in two weeks. They told us that we were going to have 2 awesome surprises today. I was so excited I even forgot to brush my teeth. We were told to just follow directions and sit in the car when ready. We started drive and we were bubbling with excitement for what was to come next. We finally figured out we were headed to the airport. We were getting on a flight to Los Angeles, California! The flight felt super short because we were looking forward to figuring out where we were headed. Since my cousins live there, that was my guess. We were going to visit them. Interestingly, the drive was too long and we reached a hotel so going to my cousin’s place was not it.  By the time we settled down it was late and we were tired so we called it a day. We woke up early the next day and had breakfast at the hotel…now we were ready for the big news!!

We started in the car again and the surprise started to reveal itself. When we got out of the car, we saw a huge sign made from Lego’s. Was this sign our birthday surprise? When we got closer my sister Alia, and I saw the sign which read “LEGOLAND”. We gave our parents the biggest hugs. Our first agenda item was the water park. We explored, had lots of water fun. In the water park I went on a tube ride with my mom, we went in the lazy river and so many more rides. We had one incident where my sister Alia could not go on one of the rides because she was half an inch too short.  She was so sad and I was sad for her.

We had an amazing adventure waiting for us the next day and we were thrilled about more rides. When we came down for breakfast the next day, my jaw dropped at what we saw. My cousins were down waiting for us! So many surprises, THIS WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY, EVER!

We explored the park together, the Ninjago ride was awesome! We were given 3D glasses and we were part of the game on this ride. The point of the game was to use your hands to shoot the villains inching towards you.  My score was 10,978. We then went on to a racing game. You get to steer your own car, and change gears, and you get to bump the other cars and you wouldn’t even get in trouble! My cousin Ankush and me raced each other around the mini track. Then we met up with Alia and my other cousin, Sid who were too young to use the bumper cars.

If you know my sister Alia, you would know how adventurous she is. She suggested our next ride had to be a roller-coaster. When she said that we should go on a roller coaster I had butterflies in my tummy. The roller coaster ride went up a hill and then when it went down, it felt like a drop of doom from the book, Horrible Harry. I felt like jumping off instead of riding more.

Our day continued with more rides and at the end of the day when we came back to the hotel room I felt like the luckiest kid on earth. This had indeed been the best trip yet!
